The Free Company Wedding

The Free Company, which is just outside Edinburgh, only came onto my radar last year as a wedding venue. It’s a working farm and seasonal restaurant, and gorgeous event venue with nice rustic vibes and lots of great spots for photos.

One of my favourite things in a venue is when all the bits I want to get to for photos are really close by. I’m never a big fan of taking couples miles away for photos, leaving them feeling like they’re missing out on the fun of the wedding. Not only do they miss the fun, but it shows in the faces when people are anxious to get them over with. The Free Company is great for this. Beautiful spots in the courtyard and around the farm, and epic views just a few minutes walk up the hill. I popped up there after dinner with James & Fiona for some pretty dramatic couple photos thanks to that moody sky.

An added bonus, the food here is unreal! Some of the best wedding scran I’ve eaten.

If you’re looking at venues over East you should definitely check this place out. I’m hoping someone else gets me back there again soon!
