Sarah & Matt // Scottish Festival Wedding
So it's cold outside, cars need scraped in the morning, scarf collection is getting a solid outing & I'm drinking even more tea than usual. So, I'm looking through summer photos and realised I never put this wedding online.
Don't really know where to start with this one, so much happened!
The first time I spoke to Sarah & Matt they were planning a low-key back garden wedding. As the invite list grew they realised it wasn't going to happen, so plans evolved until they had a jaunt around the east coast. And they kept it all a secret from their guests!
So, first port of call was Queensferry & a trip on the 'Maid of the Forth' to Incholm Island, where they were married in Incholm Abbey, a properly stunning, semi-derelict building.
Back on the boat and bus with all the guests thinking they were heading to a (severely cramped) back garden, we instead took a detour and ended up in a campsite that Sarah, Matt & a legion of friends had transformed into the most incredible 'festival' with games for the kids (and adults), dinner tent, booze tent (obviously!), bouncy castle and so much more.
I had the best time exploring, though I managed to hold myself back from the bouncy castle.
Oh, and I didn't even mention that they danced their first dance to a Proud Mary song, performed by...Proud Mary. The actual people that wrote the song were there playing it! Mental.
Huge congrats to Sarah & Matt, hope you see this and have a wee moment of remembering the fun in the Summer sunshine and the amazing day you put together.
I might post a few more weddings from the year this week as I have a look back through what I've been up to.
Hope you enjoy having a look through the photos, and, as always, if you want to see more, head over to my website, and let me know what you think! e x
