Kirstin & Callum’s Wee Wedding

It’s been a ride eh? My last post on this blog was the final wedding I photographed before the world flipped upside down. I haven’t quite been in total hibernation, but not far off it in wedding world.

A lot of time has been spent on the admin of moving a year’s worth of weddings, and then moving a lot of them again. Calendar checking, email writing, replanning and re-imagining what a wedding can look like.

Fortunately, for me, I’ve been able to photograph some wonderful couples over the last year who decided to go ahead with a wee wedding. A smaller version of what had been planned but having wonderful days regardless.

This first one here, is the last wedding I photographed, what seems like forever ago, just before Christmas at One Devonshire Gardens in Glasgow’s west end. The venue is pretty perfect for a small celebration, it’s cosy, compact, lots of small spaces for limited numbers without ever feeling like you’re lost in a cavernous venue.

This was the wedding of Kirstin & Callum, a genuinely brilliant pair of people to spend the day with. So laid back, so much fun and such a pleasure to photograph. Thank you both for trusting me to photograph your wedding. In true Covid spirit there was zoom guests, zoom speeches, zoom tears and an amazing crowd sourced video from all of the guests who couldn’t be there in person.

It was, as always, a joy to spend the day with Simon of Boda Productions who was on movie-making-magic duty.
